Allan Gabriele

IMG_6152Allan has practiced public accounting for more than 25 years. He specializes in financial and tax planning for small businesses, high net worth individuals, traders and financial service firms. Allan is a member of the Illinois C.P.A. Society. Prior to creating his own firm, Gabriele & Associates in 1984, he was with Price Waterhouse for five years. Allan held the position of Vice President-Controller for Great American Management & Investment, and Equity Realty, Inc., two companies controlled by the Zell group. In addition to a high concentration of real estate clients, he has been active in many facets of real estate from owning and operating properties to fund raising for larger projects. He holds a B.B.A. degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. degree from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Jim Gabriele

Jim brings over 20 years experience in investment operations and financial control.  In addition to being a Managing Member of the Gabriele Group, he is currently Chief Financial Officer for R.J. O’Brien, a Chicago based futures clearing firm.  He spent several years in hedge fund administration where he started his own company providing clients with full service back office outsourcing across numerous structures and asset classes.

Most recently, Mr. Gabriele spent 2 years at Butterfield Fulcrum, a top tier global hedge fund administrator, as Managing Director and member of the Business Development and the Client Management Teams  Mr. Gabriele participated in developing a comprehensive Client Management framework utilized for successfully managing client relationships.  Also while at Butterfield Fulcrum he participated in researching the development of managed account platforms, and contributed to the design of Butterfield Fulcrum’s proprietary managed account platform.

Prior to Butterfield Fulcrum he was a Managing Director at Caledonian Global Fund Services.  As a shareholder and member of the senior management team, his responsibilities included operations and client management. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of ING Barings Futures and Options Clearing Services, part of ING Group. He has a BBS from Loyola University of Chicago, a CPA, and NASD series 7 and 27 registrations. He is a member of the Illinois CPA Society.

Maria Lambou

MariaMaria has been a valuable member of the Gabriele group of companies for over twenty years. She has developed strong technical skills in taxation for both corporation and individuals. She has prepared financial statements for a wide variety of companies. She is proficient at compiling financial information that is the language used by businesses to communicate to the outside world. Maria has excellent technical abilities. As an expert with QuickBooks, she serves as a resource to our many clients that use this popular software. Maria assists in managing many aspects of the practice. Maria has a B.S. in accounting from Northeastern Illinois University and is a CPA.

Bob Iannotta

BobBob joined The Gabriele Group in 1998. Bob has been a member of The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) since 1982 and is currently a member Lessor. As an individual Market Maker trading various equity and index products, Bob participated in a period of significant growth at the CBOE. He has served on various committees at the exchange. Prior to becoming a Market Maker, Bob served as a Senior Manager at KPMG. During his 9 year career in public accounting, he specialized in the financial services sector, primarily securities and banking. Bob received his B.S. in accounting from Northern Illinois University, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.

Suzanne Versteeg

Suzanne Versteeg joined The Gabriele Group in the fall of 2007 in a part time capacity. She worked eight years in public accounting with Arthur Andersen in Chicago. Since then she has developed an accounting practice of small business clients, focusing on financial statement compilation and tax preparation. Suzanne is proficient in QuickBooks, a popular business software program used by a variety of companies. Suzanne holds a B.S. in Accounting and M.B.A. from Indiana University, Bloomington, and is a CPA.

Dimitrina Parvanova

DimitrinaDimitrina joined The Gabriele Group in 2009, and as a staff accountant has performed various tax and accounting functions for a wide range of clients. Dimitrina provides clients with general ledger accounting, accounts payable support, tax return and financial statement preparation. She has experience in hedge fund accounting and NAV preparation. Dimitrina received a B.S. in Accounting from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.

Mario Spatafora

MarioMario joined the Gabriele Group as a college intern and continues there today as a staff accountant performing a number of duties including tax preparation, financial statement compilation, bookkeeping, and other client services. In 2010, he co-founded 312 Aquaponics LLC, a company that pioneered indoor urban agriculture in Chicago. He is currently a managing member of AMB Eco LLC which continues 312′s mission to design and install custom indoor growing solutions in the Chicagoland area. When he’s not at his desk or out at a client, Mario enjoys bike riding, playing guitar, and reading about current events. He received a B.S. in Accounting from DePaul University in Chicago.
